ASP-based Integrated Management System For Students

The rapid development and wide application of computer information technology,network technology and database technology are changing the style people work, learn andlive. More and more attention nowadays has been paid to all sorts of these softwaremanagement systems which have much liberated modern people from the traditional labors.The Comprehensive Management System for College Students, whose log in is basedon the individual student’s school code and which include admission enquiry, studentregistration, enrollment management and counselors’ group construction, integrates thewhole information about each student’s performance during his campus life, thus providinga macro perspective on the college students’quality and meanwhile details of each student’sdevelopment. This paper describes how to use the B/S structure, ASP and Java Seriptscripting language as carriers to the integrate students admission analysis, studentsregistration, enrollment management and counselors’ group construction as modularsystems and thus sest up a Comprehensive Management System for College Students.This system possesses many advantages in student management, such as highreliability, large storage capacity, easy and quick enquiry, long life span and lowmanagement cost. Through the rational use of database and information processingtechnology, it can deal with the data appropriately and efficiently, reduce the unnecessaryhuman interference and hand operations, and therefore reduce the errors to a maximumextent and finally improve the information processing accuracy and enhance the officeefficiency.However, as for this system, there are still a few shortcomings, for instance, both itsinterface and some functions need further improvement. In the future, the writer willcontinue to improve the system, and add a series of management modular systems such asstudents’ loan grants, student insurance, and student activities so as to cover all aspects ofstudent management, and the writer sincerely hope this system can serve as a quite effectivetool for college counselors.
