In modern times, the publishing enterprises,the main publishers and theauthors who had global vision realized the importance of going out for theChinese publishing and they made active attempts, vigorously promotingChinese culture in different cultural world of non-Chinese circle. Comparedwith the intensity of the going-out efforts of the present publishing, it wasmodest and didn’t achieve the perfect export combination of the publishing andthe works. However, it really gave us some practical significance that’s worthreferring to and learning from. By introducing the going-out attempts of themost influential modern Chinese Publishing House─the Commercial Press,and the main publishers─Zhang Yuanji and Wang Yunwu, and analyzing theworks of outstanding writers in the thirties or forties of the20th century, such asLin Yutang, Jiang Yi and Xiong Shiyi, this paper summarizes the significantinspiration which the going-out efforts of the modern Chinese publishingbrought us, which can be listed as follows: paying attention to its owncharacteristics of the content, and appropriate compromises andinternationalization; non-native localization creation of the language;systemization and reutilization of the publishing process; and attaching greatimportance to the significance of the literary agents.
