With the rapid development of social economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, automobile has become a kind of indispensable mean of transportation tool in people’s daily life, according to the report, the vehicle holdings of China’s automobile retains137million, the average annual increase automobiles are more than11million, the rapid growth of automobile holdings brings great convenience to people’s travel, but also correspondingly brings serious traffic and vehicle management problems. The traditional vehicle management system could not adapt the modern networked and information-based society, based on this, this paper designs a real-time vehicle monitoring system based on server push technology which is relying on the internet.This paper firstly offers detailed analysis and research towards WebGIS technology and server push technology, and compares the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation techniques in depth analysis, using the ArcGIS Server platform and Comet technology to break through the limitation of traditional system’function, solves the problem of real-time locating and monitoring of vehicles on the Internet. This paper then designs and discusses the overall system architecture, function module, data model, vehicle terminal and communication network and other aspects, using the B/S three layer model to combine GIS and Web together, successfully implements the basic operation functions of map, the dynamic positioning of the vehicle, the playback of the vehicle track, the calling of vehicle, the early warning of vehicle and etc., in the achievement of the core function of real-time positioning, this paper flexibly integrates the frame of Pushlet into the system, thus achieves the seamless integration with the system and the purposes of the positive information push and dynamic display of real-time vehicle. In the end this paper carries the test to the system from the two aspects of function and performance of the system to testify the steadiness and accuracy which satisfies customer needs, then summaries the work of this paper, meanwhile puts forward the existing problems and the following research direction.This paper presents and designs a comparatively mature monitoring system of vehicle management, takes full concerns of the low cost, easiness to maintain, high steadiness and other characteristics, provides an effective way for the construction of related systems, strongly supports the vehicle information management system development, and offers promotion to the future social vehicle network construction and development.
