| Along with the rapid popularization of intelligent terminals especially of smartphones and flourish of mobile internet, various mobile applications emerge in large numbers. These applications mostly have location based services embedded, which poses new demands and challenges to mobile localization technology. Stimulated by these demands, a lot of mobile localization technologies emerged these years. Wi-Fi fingerprints localization technology is among them.A typical Wi-Fi fingerprint contains several groups of triples which are made up with SSID, BSSID and signal strength. Intelligent terminals can collect Wi-Fi fingerprint of current environment and send it to locating server. The locating server will execute matching procedure and return result of matching to intelligent terminals. The expending area covered by Wi-Fi access points in cities and the reality that most cell phones embed Wi-Fi function modules provide convenient for applying of Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology. However, traditional Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology has some limitations. First, it consumes a lot of computing resources when matching Wi-Fi fingerprints because of complex matching algorithm and model. Second, Wi-Fi fingerprint cannot get updated which means people have to update Wi-Fi fingerprint manually when Wi-Fi environment changed. These limitations limit Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology’s application context. This paper first introduces common mobile localization technologies, and then does a deep study on Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology and improves it. This paper makes Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology more easy to use through simplifying Wi-Fi fingerprints matching steps, adding auto-update mechanism of Wi-Fi fingerprint. Based on these improvements, this paper designs mobile location service based on Wi-Fi fingerprint, and implements it in the format of REST Web Service adapting SOA theory so that these services can be embedded and applied to a situation where there is mobile localization demand or some other existing systems. Finally, this paper developed a mobile attendance system to verify the function of mobile location service based on Wi-Fi fingerprint, positioning accuracy of improved Wi-Fi fingerprint localization technology. |
