| With the fast development of network and computer techniques, many instituteshave constructed their own campus network; moreover, student informationmanagement system is one of the important constituent parts to form the campusnetwork. During these years, the population of continuing education college studentshas kept increasing, and as a result, the load of teaching management keepsaggravating. However, manual management is not only low efficient but also errorprone. So, how to improve the working quality of student management, and how toconstruct a information management system suitable for the continuing education’scollege students has become an important topic of many institutes’ informationconstruction.Basing on the research of characteristics and requirements of the continuingeducation college students’ information management system, and according to thecurrent situation of Guangdong Institute of Petrochemical Technology continuingeducation college students, we have advocated the development of the students’information management system of the continuing education college. It contains fivemodules, including student basic information management, courses management,score management, class management and other managements. The system’s usershave been divided into three categories: students, teachers and informationadministrator. The student users can only browse and search their own relativeinformation; the teachers can not only accomplish the student users’ operation, butalso input the term grades and final grades of their students; the informationadministrator can not only accomplish the teachers and students’ operations, but alsomanage and maintain the students’ basic information, courses information, scoreinformation, class information and other information. The system takes advantage ofASP.NET and is developed on the.NET Framework platform. It adopts C#language,and B/S mode to overcome the drawbacks of the client/server(C/S)mode, and candecrease the maintenance cost and enhance the scalability. It utilizes ADO.NETtechnique to access database, which can simplify the database’s access process, increase the access efficiency, and make sure the system’s stabilization and highefficient operation.The test has shown that the students’ information management system of thecontinuing education college can satisfy the requirements of the continuing educationcollege students’ information management. Comparing to manual management, it hasmany advantages, such as good interface, well-performed functions, simpleoperations, and can greatly improve the work quality and efficiency of the continuingeducation college students’ information management. |
