With the popularity of smart phones, its personalization features, open operating system and other advantages favored customers. Smartphone map applications have been widely applied to people’s lives, whether it is travel, dinner or shopping, but most applications can only provide users with outdoor service, for indoor navigation of these applications will be powerless. According to this question, this thesis design indoor navigation system based on the Android platform.The main content of the indoor navigation system based on Android is the case cannot be used in indoor GPS positioning, we can using Android phone sensors to achieve positioning and provides the user to specify the location of the navigation service. Firstly the research background and the tasks described, introduces the status quo Android system, and the system uses to Android service mechanism, the sensor call methods and Android image rendering mechanism introduced. From the functional and non-functional requirements of both the system needs analysis to determine the sensor location, map rendering and map navigation features, and a detailed description of each function. According to the needs analysis, outline design in the whole system is divided into four modules, which is the interface module, sensor positioning module, map rendering module and navigation module. Then there are the various modules of the module further divided into several small modules, detailed description function modules, the realization of the principle and the communication. On the basis of the outline design, the detailed design and implementation of each module has been completed. The realization of the system testing phase functional testing and compatibility tests, the test results are the expected results, in line with the needs analysis.
