This paper, which comes from a cooperation project with the government, gives a detailed description on the background, requirement analysis, design and coding of the Coastal wetland monitoring system project. With the rapid development of China’s economy, our country has now become the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide which causes increasing environmental problems and diplomatic pressure. Carbon sequestration is an important service function of Coastal wetland ecosystem, and how to monitor and improve Coastal wetland carbon sequestration efficiency in an limited space with advanced technological means has become a major problem to China. Currently, the use of wireless sensor networks as the core networking technology to solve Coastal wetland messaging has become one of the hotspots. Using information technology to acquire Coastal wetland related data information has a good effect to monitor the effect of carbon sequestration and ultimately achieve the purpose of low-input high output. In the first place, this paper introduces the concept of Coastal wetland monitoring system and the Internet of Things. Then it introduces the technology which relate to of Coastal wetland monitoring system and the main ways to achieve it. In chapter3, the paper makes a detailed requirement analysis. From the actual requirement, it determines the user’s interface and makes a comprehensive analysis of the proximity module on its expected functions. Chapter4, which is the key part of the paper, describes the design of the Coastal wetland monitoring system. Starting from the whole, the paper divides the whole into a number of modules and defines in detail the linkages between them. Then it focuses on the design and implementation of the data display. Based on the design above, it finally accomplishes the expected function through C and PHP programming language. At last, the paper makes a conclusion.
