With the continuous development of mobile communication technology, relay cellular networkhas become a hot area of research. The relay technology is core technology for the fourth generationmobile communication standard LTE-A and has been widely studied. This technology has manyadvantages, for example, it can increase system capacity, improve the data transmission rate andextend the cell’s coverage.This paper firstly introduces some key technologies for LTE-A standard. These keytechnologies of LTE-A are essential to meet the requirement of4G. Then, we put forward a methodto analyze the downlink Erlang capacity of OFDMA cellular network and further analyze the Erlangcapacity of OFDMA cellular network which added two-hop relays. According to users’s demand forsub-carriers, we can divide the access users into different types of service and we usemulti-dimensional Markov chain as the mathematical model to analyze downlink Erlang capacity.Finally, analyze the influence of various parameters on system performance through numericalcalculation.This paper also studies the problem of inter-cell load balancing.To further improve thedownlink capacity of two-hop relay OFDMA network system, we can consider one method which isload balancing among cellular cells through the relays. During the process of load balancing,borrow the idle sub-carriers from adjacent free cell to hot cell through the relays and transfer usersfrom hot cell to free cell, which can effectively reduce the call blocking probability of the system.Then propose one load balancing strategy for two-hop relay OFDMA cellular network, and analyzethe Erlang capacity of OFDMA cellular network with load balancing through numerical calculation.Finally, the results of numerical calculation prove that load balancing can bring a lot of advantagesfor two-hop relay OFDMAcellular network system.
