With the advent of the information age,design methods and processes under the traditional industrial age background cannot meet the needs of the new era of design, facing the new industry transformation,the design idea and design method will usher in the great revolution. Especially in recent years, with the popularity of smartphone and the development of mobile networking technology, mobile application of smartphone has become a vast system of products.However, the complexity of the mobile environment and smartphone platform features, need more narrow information content and new information structure. The previous product design processes and methods are difficult to be used to direct the information design of mobile application of smartphone.This paper takes the information design as the starting point,clarifying its research scope and research issues, thus put forward the information design characteristics of mobile application of smartphone.Then we make a case study of food application of smartphone to detailed analysis about the elements of the information architecture.After analyzing the characteristics of information architecture,then summarizes the design principles and the basic manifestation,to provide general design method and train of thought for information design of smartphone applications.And basis on the cores and paths model, put forward information content as the center, from the inside out to build smartphone applications of systematic information design process.In this process, we put forward the method and principle of analytic hierarchy of users’information need. Thus providing a design idea, process and methods for the effective division of user demand level and planning information path, realization of narrow and shallow smartphone applications.
