This paper introduced the classification of printer and development of printer market, and developed a new structure design of ink jet printer head. Using COMSOL simulation software, the thickness of vibrate plate was analyzed and the relation between the width of PZT and vibrate plate was studied. The newly designed printer was made by a integration method. By this way, we can reduce the cost without using the expensive devices. PZT, as the power part, converts electrical energy into mechanical energy by piezoelectric effect. The vibrate plate is fixed by four sides, the volume of chamber can be changed by vibrating. Due to the limiting structure of the chamber, ink drops will be sprayed out of the chamber.This paper introduced the fabricating process of the newly designed printer, and the preparation of PZT precursor solution. The problems such as the cracks and carbide particles in the film during the preparation of PZT by sol-gel were solved. In this way, we improved the properties of the thin film. The vibrate plate is made of silicon nitride and silicon dioxide. The silicon nitride film is deposited by PECVD. We also controlled the conditions such as temperature, RF power and gas flow rate to improve the properties. After the printer head was fabricated, the vibrating of the plate by Doppler velocimetry was tested, and the parameters were optimized according the test results. We also built a test platform to detect drops of ink and designed a method to make it working under reality condition, proving it works well. Different designs of ink printer including the fabricating method were introduced, and the problems during the fabricating process were solved.
