Research And Application Of Ti DSP Based On Keystone Ii Architecture

This thesis is done in a project of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and a company in Beijing. The goal is to design a baseband board for LTE-A based on TI’s KeyStone II multicore DSP. This baseband board plays an important role in wireless communication test set where it mainly does baseband signal processing. The study of high performance DSP will lay a foundation for the whole system. It is difficult to boot the DSP in order to dynamicly switch the program of the DSP. This paper gives a boot method based on PCIE. The drivers of high speed interfaces such as PCIE, SRIO and AIF2are also difficult to develop. The author takes part in the design of the board, the design and implementation of the bootloader for DSP and the driver of many high speed interfaces which will be used by software engineer.The first chapter introduces the background of this thesis, then introduces the advantage of KeyStone II architecture and a DSP named TCI6638K2K which is based on this architecture.The second chapter introduces the architecture of communication test set, gives the design of baseband board, chip selection, the interface and the design of power and clock.The third chapter describes the boot of DSP and the design of a bootloader based on PCIE by which the DSP can be booted dynamicly. The communication test set can switch mode using this bootloader. This chapter also gives another bootloader based on IIC.The next three chapters describe the design of many high speed interfaces on the board like SRIO, PCIE, AIF2. And give the result of performance test of some interfaces.So far, the bootloaders based on PCIE and IIC have been implementationed and tested. The driver of SRIO, AIF2and PCIE is has been tested and is ready to be used.
