With the popularity of smart mobile devices and rapid development of Mobile Internet, mobile communication traffic is showing the trend of exponential growth. However, the microwave spectrum below3GHz is becoming increasingly crowded, eventually unable to meet the growing demand for high-speed transmission. Millimeter wave has so much spectrum resources that the development of millimeter-wave broadband wireless communications is of great strategic importance.Based on the characteristics of millimeter wave channel and the knowledge of the channel modeling and antenna foundations, research and simulations are done. This thesis mainly focuses on the following two aspects:Firstly, the design and implementation of millimeter wave beamforming simulation platform. Strictly in accordance with the full life cycle of software development, demand analysis and feasibility analysis is done for millimeter-wave beamforming performance simulation. On this basis, this paper outlines the overall system design and then provided a more detailed module design and specific implementation. And interface-oriented programming approach is used to ensure that the simulation platform is scalable and maintainable for different channel types, antenna configurations and beamforming algorithms.Secondly, using the above simulation platform, combined with millimeter wave typical scenario, system modeling and link level simulation are accomplished. This paper discusses the situation that60GHz OFDM multi-carrier signals transporting through the IEEE802.Had channel. System modeling and simulation analysis are carried out by comparing the subcarrier CSI SVD decomposition beamforming algorithm and various codebook based beamforming algorithm in relatively beamforming gain. The results show that using more lobes and higher-order phase codebook can approximate the performance of the channel SVD decomposition based beamforming algorithm, and on the other hand, it has lower complexity and overhead.
