The thesis presents the work of the design and implementation of multi-standard broadband receiver used in User Equipment. This receiver’s working frequency is covering from700MHz-2700MHz and consists of two identical structure of receiving path. It can be used in several mobile standard communication system, like TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, GSM, etc. The RF indicators of this receiver meet3GPP standards, and without modifying the hardware platform it can be applied to various types of RF front-end equipment, which has certain practical significance.The difficulty of the design is that the User Equipment works in wireless mobile environment with a lot of electromagnetic interference, and works over a wide frequency range. It is quite a challenge for the broadband characteristics and interference characteristics of the system. Therefore, this radio receiver uses double-conversion high IF architecture. With the architecture of the twice frequency conversion, selecting a proper IF frequency and making an appropriate frequency schedule can effectively improve the interference characteristics and dynamic range of the system. The first frequency conversion uses a high IF frequency that is conducive to the image interference frequency suppression. The second frequency conversion uses quadrature digital low-IF frequency that is conducive to improving the channel selectivity of the system. After repeated debugging and modification of the chain, the tests show that the design has fulfilled the system requirements.For the content of the thesis, firstly based on the practical application, the receiver adopts a double-conversion architecture. Secondly, the thesis puts emphasis on the analysis and derivation of the receiver’s key indicators, processing a detailed system link budget. Then it introduces the specific design of each circuit module in the receiver. In the end, the receiver PCB board design, test results and corrective solutions is presented.Currently, the User Equipment has already been able to work normally, and its RF indicators meet the basic design requirements. For now, several set of the User Equipment’s hardware platform have been welded for the software developers for further protocols developed.
