Pu Xixiu, Yang gang and Peng Zigang were regarded as "three musketeers" of Journalism dominated by male journalists because of their brave exploration in interview, strong determination with persistence, variety of writing materials, and exquisite but penetrating writing style in the period of Anti Japanese War and Liberation War. They were not afraid of power. Further more, they challenged to express their opinions directly. Besides, they insisted on undertaking the responsibility of professional Journalists to express mess’s opinion courageously.In this paper, the journalistic activities about "three musketeers" are taken as the research object by analyzing first hand materials in large quantum to introduce the origin of the name "three musketeers" and their life. This paper mainly analyzes the features of interviewing and writing of "three musketeers" in three aspects as follows:adeptness in tracing and interviewing the news; criticism of the evil at that time and caring about women affairs. Besides, it also explores the reason of "three musketeers" formation in the aspects of Journalism in KMT-governed regions; women’s liberation movement; development of non-governmental newspapers and values of profession which are combined with the interviewing and writing features. This paper will make comparisons as follows:the "three musketeers" and other journalist groups at that time; the "three musketeers" and other women journalists of the revolutionary base in the aspects of professional identity and professional qualities; the "three musketeers" with journalists of CPC in KMT governed regions in the aspects of publicizing strategies and news concept to illustrate the difference and distinction with other groups. Finally, it will discuss the historic contribution of "three musketeers" made to news industry at that time in the aspects of realizing women’s liberation in anti-Japanese war; exquisite and abundant expressions; promoting the change of aggressive non-governmental newspapers.
