Video tracking system, which is typical of high tracking precision and stability,strong anti-interference capability, high resolution and low cost,has been widely used inboth military and civilian fields. The applications of video tracking system are varied,and different external influential factors lead to different requirement. With theincreasing resolution and the frame frequency, the data size to be processed increasessharply. The requirement of the extraction and recognition to target in the complexbackground becomes increasingly higher, which increases the complexity of videotracking system and the difficulty of research. This paper proposes and implements adesign scheme based on general video tracking test platform which shortens thedevelopment cycle of the tracking system through the analysis of the overallperformance for the tracking algorithm to multiple tracking scenarios.This paper firstly presents the summary of the video tracking system. And then thedesign, the principle and the constitution of the video tracking test platform are proposedcombined with the architecture of the video tracking system in current mainstream. Thenit proposes the hardware and software design of video tracker. Finally, the experimentalanalysis is given based on the platform. The design flow of the front tracking scenarios,then the hardware and software design of video tracker and finally the analysis for thetesting platform and tracking algorithm are given in detail according to the demand ofthe project. The main work includes:1. The research of technical solution to the video tracking test platform. Theprinciple of the video tracking test platform designed in this paper is shown below.Scene generation system simulates the real experiment scenarios. The test platformfirstly launches the program for the capture and display the virtual scenarios. After theinstructions of target tracking from PC command software,the video tracker leads tocalculate the tracking algorithm of the visual images and the calculations are given to theservo which is to ensure the test target inside the visual field. Firstly, the video trackingtest platform starts to continuously process the image and to provide performanceanalysis of the video tracking algorithm. And the tracking results are shown on the display and then the video capture equipment ensure continuous tracking by rotation.The performance analysis of the tracking algorithm is to shorten the development cycleof the tracking system.2. The introduction to the hardware platform and function design of the videotracker. Firstly this chapter introduces the design scheme of the video tracker hardwareplatform. The working principle of hardware and the circuit design of video processingmodule and the interface adapting module are described in detail. Then the details of thefunction design of video tracker which based on system hardware design, such as videoprocessing module and interface adapting module, are introduced. And the design of theprinciple of internal state transfer and data distribution in function modules are givencombining with the system functional division.3. The software design and the analysis to the testing platform based on the videotracker. The software flow is designed according to the status analysis to the trackingtargets. Then several principles which include gate tracking algorithm and correlationtracking algorithm are given, so as to the corresponding implementations. Finally, thevideo track and analysis are tested on the video tracking test platform. The tests includeboth extended target scenarios and smoothly moving target scenarios. Based on this,image feature matching algorithm and correlation tracking algorithm are tested andfinally the results and analysis to both algorithm are given.The video tracking test platform which has been designed and implemented in thispaper can analyze the performance of the different algorithms in multiple scenarios,propose specific performance indexes and evaluate the tracking algorithms in detail.Through experimental analysis, the video tracking test platform can rapidly provide agood test environment for different practical scenarios and tracking algorithms infunction. The video tracking test platform provides a solution for the research and test ofthe video tracking system, improves the research efficiency and shortens thedevelopment cycle of the video tracking system.
