| With the development of China’s logistics industry from the single logistics servicesin the past to the integrated logistics service, and to the rising of door-to-door logisticsservices in the present, the service model of logistics management information system,in general, is transforming toward the integrated information management on the supplychain. However, the software functions and system integration of the current domesticlogistics software are very weak. Meanwhile, logistics information system data sharingwithin and between the enterprises in the supply chain is always very difficult and the"Information Island" problem is very serious.The goal of the EPC system is to realize efficient information transmission andsharing among the enterprises in global supply chain. Many cases showed that, the EPCsystem has great application value and potential for solving the problem of poorlogistics information system integration and "Information Island" under currentcircumstance in China. However, logistics information systems in China run mostly inthe state of the use of bar code scanning and post entry documents. The RFID hardwareis not yet universal because the cost is too high.Therefore, this paper applies EPCIS, which is a key part of EPC system, in thedevelopment of logistics information system, aims to improve the efficiency of systemdevelopment, enhance adaptability and reusability of code and eliminate the"Information Island" problem under the background of bar code scanning and post entrydocuments. Firstly, the paper introduces EPCIS and summarizes the commonness oflogistics activities. Secondly, the paper puts forward the development method oflogistics enterprise information system based on EPCIS. The method grasps thecommonness of logistics activities, unifies the development method of each module inthe operation layer and eliminates the association between logistics activities, logisticsactivities and inventory or other modules, and greatly improves the reusability ofmodules. Finally, in this paper, coding and the operation layer module is designed,which is suitable for the situation of EPCIS barcode scanning and post manual entrydocuments. This paper develops a prototype system based on EPCIS without the use ofRFID hardware. The operation layer includes eight modules, and the management layercontaining product information management, inventory management and vehicle routeplanning module. The experiment is carried out to test the system for processadaptability, the result of which shows that when the business process changes, theprototype system can be modified quickly to adapt to the new process. |
