Digital Volume Image Correlation has developed on the basis of DIC, This is a algorithm which can be used to analysis the internal deformation of the object. Since the 1990s, Digital Volume Image Correlation has been proposed by B.K.Bay, it get such widely attention. With the rapid development of computer technology and digital image technology, the applications of DVC technology is becoming more and more widely. DVC needs three data, there are two sources generally:(1) computer tomography three-dimensional imaging;(2) 3D imaging of optical confocal microscopy. The time of DVC computing research to carry out in China is not long, and has made gratifying progress. Beijing university of aeronautics and astronautics Pan Bing put forward DVC algorithm based on gradient deformation measurement of object interior, Niu YongJiang, Fan XueSong also do a lot of related research, in 2011, Beijing university of J. Huang use the 3D confocal fluorescence microscopy and DVC technology to measurement three-dimensional deformation field distribution inside the bead gels before and after loading random embedded micro fluorescence.There are several calculation methods of 3D displacement field. But the facing problem is how to handle large amounts of data so that the greatest degree to improve the accuracy and efficiency of displacement calculation. In this article, through the use of the image of a grayscale gradient to calculate the three-dimensional displacement field distribution, to avoid the trouble using high order gray gradient computation and efficiency is improved, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the displacement using ternary cubic interpolation gray of sub-voxel location. The main content of this paper as follows:(1) This article in the introduction part mainly introduces the research background and research significance, and introduce the research progress both at home and abroad, and introduces the subject research progress is mainly manifested in two aspects, on the one hand, about algorithm; on the other hand, mainly concentrated in the 3D image acquisition DVC with these 3D images of biological tissues, materials of different applications for further research.Then on digital image correlation were summarized, and it tells the story of the basic concept of digital image correlation method, in digital image correlation, will involve the use of various 3D data as the carrier, in the article also introduces the several technology such as CT (Computer tomography), LSCM (Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy) and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) for DVC of 3D data.(2) In order to introduce the basic principle of 3D digital image correlation, firstly introduces the basic principle of 2D digital image correlation, and then on the basis of DIC, the introduction of digital image correlation measurement (DVC), analyzed the basic principle of digital body image correlation measurement, in DVC, we mention to the several key issues, namely the selection of related functions based on,3D digital image correlation function in the form of integral pixel, sub-pixel measurement, and the analysis of sub-pixel interpolation, in this article, on the basis of gray gradient calculation, we use the ternary three sub-pixel interpolation for gray-level interpolation, makes the computation efficiency and calculation accuracy.(3) Finally, based on the previous theories, we have done the measurement experiment simulation of the space of translational, were analyzed the experimental data which be obtained, and verified the ternary three interpolating sub-pixel interpolation in digital image correlation measurement can improve the calculation accuracy, and the computing speed also has a bigger improvement.
