Research Of Interface Design For Elderly People Healthy Management Smart Phone Apps Based On Mental Model

Today, in the information age,smart phones have become to be an important medium communicating each other. More and more elderly people have used smart phones. With the age increasing, elderly people would get a physical syndrome degradation.Elderly people are the focus of health management,many elderly people managed their health through mobile applications.It should take more account into characteristics of the elderly mental models to enhancing the user experience of mobile phone interface.There were lots of usability issues of elderly people interface design with existing enterprise mobile applications.In this paper we excepted to establish a methodology of interface design for elderly healthy management mobile phone application based on elderly people mental model.This research was to complete the methodology of elderly user-centered interface design,it would be a guideline of interface design practice.This paper present a review of elderly mobile phone interface design theory and mental model theory and the user experience theory of interface elements.Have analyzed the relationship between the elderly people mental model characterizations and health management application interface elements.This paper outlined several interface design needs of elderly people through experiments of Survey Questionnaire and Semantic Differential Scale and User Testing and In-depth Interviews.This paper made up interface design principles of elderly people healthy management App after summarizing elderly users need model and elements of interface design model,such as rapid cognitive, unified interface architecture,linear structure operating mode,functions content needs and highlight users values,then detailed the interface design process of determining the elderly users’ needs and goals,matching the design model after making up it,evaluating interface.At last,made up the method of elderly people health management Apps interface design based on users ’mental model, then verified its feasibility by ameliorating the interface of "Ding xiang yi sheng"app.
