With the rapid construction of multimedia services, the video surveillance with audio/video (such as network television, online learning, video conferencing and online live) has been a great deal of promotion on the Internet. They had a deep impression on people’s study, work and daily life. Future development of multimedia services not only rely on upgrading Internet technology, but also need network measurement to play a greater role in the quality assessment.This subject aims to develop a client software used to implement the test and analysis of mobile video surveillance system, the test object for real-time audio/video which transmitted over IP networks. This system uses a passive flow test method to capture a variety of network packets in a shared network, focuses on parsing specific information of ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, RTP network layer protocol, calculate the number of packets sent and received, the packet loss rate, delay, jitter and other parameters of QoS based on the key filed of RTP header, so as to provide an objective basis for quality assessment of streaming media data.This paper introduces the header structure, working principle and packaging strategies of real-time transport protocol, and the main function, composition framework and installation process of WinPcap technology. Then expounded the design and implementation of the client software, the design process is described the performance test indicators, the overall framework, and MFC interface design of the software, but also to launch a detailed analysis of capture module and analysis module for two core elements. Finally, it tests the functionality and the audio/video data through the software. Mobile devices collect audio/video in both experimental environment of wired network and 3G wireless network to compare the test data. They analyze the packet loss rate, delay, jitter, transmission rate and other parameters, using MATLAB to chart a comprehensive and objective elaborated parameters on audio/video quality of service.
