With the extraordinary developed computer science and the Internet technology in 21 century, publishing has been successfully expending itself from paper to the Internet. In recent years, digital publishing gains tremendous progress in industry pattern, the scale of audience and the profits along with other numerous perspectives. Which has already became the primary publishing method instead of the traditional paper publishing. Moreover, as the smart phones, e-readers, tablets and other mobile devices gains its popularity in the market, reading on mobile devices has became one of the primary methods for people to get their daily information. In the field of mobile publishing, those "App Stores" built by service providers lead the way to how to publish media and what media will be published, by publishing the content in "Apps". This new approach of publishing meets the leading technology of the Internet, as well as caters the needs of current readers. It’s no doubt that it has a promising future.In this paper, the research was based on iPhone and iPad with Chinese version of iOS operating system. This paper tries to get a conclusion of features of publishing in App Store by researching the reading Apps of Apple App Store in amount, download rate, payment method and other perspectives. Corresponding to the traditonal studies of paper publishing which foucs on "Editing, Printing and Distribution", this writer made a research on product design, business process and commercial pattern of the modern mobile publishing. From the research the writer drew a conclusion on the problems and bottleneck of publishing in App Stores, and gave some constructive suggestions based on the research of practical facts.During the study of this topic, the author tries to find out the characters of digital publishing through applications under the theoretical perspectives of media economics and product design science through four research methods, including literature research, comparative analysis, quantitative analysis and case studies. Books apps is more like an Internet product than a publishing product, because it has a large difference from paper publishing and traditional digital publishing in editing,distribution, profit model and so on. And more and more people who is software developers, product managers, product operations in Internet industry are becoming a publisher now. Therefore, it is a totally top view to study digital publishing by using the Internet knowledge.
