Because of low attenuation and good penetration, technology of acoustic detection is playing an important role in the field of marine exploration. This paper which studies a data processing software for imaging system of 3-D sonar has a high value in engineering practice.The data processing software for imaging system of 3-D sonar can be divided into embedded software and PC application layer software in two parts. The former completes the calculation of launch cycle of sound channel data, control of real-time collection frequency, packaging data, uploading data and 2-way communication between interfaces. Setting up dynamic range limits, speed smooth and defaults helps to remove outliers and correct unreasonable value in the calculation of launch cycle. It builds multiple modules for data reception-processing, data reception-storage and display in the application layer of PC. It completes function interaction and information sharing among modules by means of semaphores, messages, mutex and so on. Within the modules, it develops a producer-consumer design pattern and multithreaded programming to complete the data collection, high-capacity data storage, real-time data processing, display, parameter control and other business. It adopts an algorithm of pulse compression. It has designed a compression network which is phase conjugation matched with input signal. The algorithm uses Fast Fourier Transform, moving window, normalization and other mathematical methods to extract a curve which reflects the features of collected data. It improves imaging fluency under low bandwidth conditions.From the results of the system tests, data storage has reached a real-time rate of about 50MB/s; the time D-value between display and control has reached millisecond level; the algorithm of pulse compression has a good performance which achieves a high compression ratio without affecting the resolution, and reduces the processing stress of imaging end.
