With the rapid development of modern society, the existing network communication protocols have been unable to meet the high demand for people. There are some urgent needs to change the traditional network architecture model for accommodating complex physical environment. With all kinds of endless debates, openflow technology is arised in this context. The idea of openflow brings a creative change of the network world. Openflow protocol is different from the traditional network communication protocols. The control plane and data plane are separated by using a new standard communication protocol. Controlled by the controller, the data is forwarded by using flow-based methods. This mode greatly improves intelligence and reliability for traffic forwarding, and it increases the efficiency of network communication. Through the use of Hangzhou H3C Technologies Co., Ltd. R & D projects, I have a systematic study and research about openflow protocol. I designed the characteristics of the openflow module and made some scalability development. This article studies the openflow protocol. Combined with ACL protocol, the mac-ip table and extensibility table are designed to complete traffic forwarding. The network architecture and the corresponding command-line are designed. And some scalable design has been developed They include increasing the number of instances, creating flow tables and supporting dynamic MAC address. The forwarding and control layers were separated successfully. Compared with other protocols, users can freely control the forwarding path traffic to make network intelligent. This openflow module is more adaptable in complex environment. It improves compatibility with other modules and has innovative features. After finishing the above work I also carried out the test work for reaching the requirements.
