Two-dimension barcode has enjoyed its wide application in current society. Information and messages are conveniently transferred to various users through the usage of two-dimension barcode, which further improve the business collectively. However, it is also being criticized due to its lack of graphic beauty and security issue. This thesis designs two-dimension image code based on practice of decoding and encoding traditional two-dimension barcode to solve the aforementioned two problems. An improved form of image-a picture (instead of black and white matrix)-is applied on two-dimension image code. This thesis invents a unique model-security model-to store relevant data in the image by applying information hiding technology. Two models are designed in this thesis. Security model contributes to the improvement of traditional two-dimension barcode by managing its security risk and singleness of information display. The original data is processed with security check and encryption storage to ensure its safety and various templates are designed to increase the diversity of display. Default model processes data in a same method as the traditional two-dimension barcode does, whereas encodes the data in a different pattern.Two-dimension image code uses images as its appearance and data carrier, to embed data through applying information hiding algorithm. This thesis proposes unit matrixing algorithm to ensure the effectiveness of the aforementioned imbedding algorithm. DWT algorithm and spatial domain Direct Current (DC) coefficient algorithm are designed to process data imbedding and extracting. Additionally, relative gray algorithm is designed based on human visual system to process the distance of grey level in data storage. The effectiveness of this algorithm is verified by simulation on possibility of practical information loss through matlab. Experiments of feasibility of two-dimension image code are accomplished through tests on printer and scanner. The result reflects relative gray algorithm has resistance towards various interferences and can correctively accomplish original data imbedding and extracting processs.
