Cloud computing has provided a new business model by combining with the Internet. It has changed the traditional service model. Various hardware resources will be virtualized by using virtualization technology on the data center to form a virtual resource pool. Then the resources could be provided to the users by dynamically deploying virtual machines, Users only know the task executing in the cloud but do not know the specific execution position.With the expanding of cloud infrastructure in order to meet the needs of users for different types of virtual machine, different resourses have to be virtualized in different conditions in the process of building cloud infrastructure. It will inevitably lead to the differences of resource management. It is important that how to manage the resources from different virtualization platforms efficiently according to business features. If we can solve it better the universality of resources could be promoted.In this paper, to meet the needs of manage the computing resources uniformly in multi-user conditions, we studied the method of unified management for cloud computing resources. On the basis of summing up past experiences, we finished the following work:(1) We do a elaborate analysis on the features of cloud computing environment, and summarizes the management method and interface utilization technology in the platform of VMWare and OpenStack.(2) We designed unified access interface standard by researching the VMWare and OpenStack system’s composition and characteristics,which is aiming at management for different virtualization platforms.(3) We designed a multi-user cloud computing resources unified management framework, proposed functional elements unified computing resource management, finished the unified management of different computing resources and enhanced the versatility of the computing resources.(4) We realized a computing resource self-management system for heterogeneous multi-user cloud environments, verified its heterogeneous computing resources for effective management and reduced data center’s operation and maintenance costs for multiple virtual systems management.Cloud computing resources unified management framework designed in this paper implements the computing resources on different platforms unified management, enhance the versatility of the cloud IaaS, but other aspects of cloud computing resources related to unified management, such as billing, operations and other yet to be released research and improvement.
