Ba Qi Wen Jing is an anthology of the Eight Banners’ articles co-edited by a celebrity called Sheng Yu in the late Qing Dynasty and his cousin Yang Zhongxi. Extremely rich in its contents, it collects a wide range of valuable historical materials of the Qing Dynasty, for instance, politics, economy, history, culture, customs, academic thought, and geographical evolution est.. It fills the blank of the Eight Banners’ anthology and enjoys the same reputation as Xi Chao Ya Song Ji(another anthology of Qing literature). As an important part of the Qing Dynasty’s Ji Bu literature and a significant achievement in the ethnic minorities’ literature in China, Ba Qi Wen Jing has a great value in both literature and philology.This thesis which is a systematically research on Ba Qi Wen Jing mainly includes four parts as follows:PartⅠ:The Introduction. The introduction analyzes and expounds the main content, research object and significance of the subject, and establishs the research principle and method of this thesis, and reviews the history and status of the research on Ba Qi Wen Jing in the academia, and supposes the fine prospect of the research on Ba Qi Wen Jing in the future academic.PartⅡ:The Compiling of Ba Qi Wen Jing. This part introduces the family and life experience of Sheng Yu and Yang Zhongxi who are the editors of Ba Qi Wen Jing, the origins of the name of the anthology, the appearance background and compiling purpose of the anthology, the compilation process of the anthology, the compilation principles and layout of the anthology, and the version circulating situation of the anthology.PartⅢ:The Content and Main Ideas of Ba Qi Wen Jing. This part summarizes the main content of Ba Qi Wen Jing.Also, and analyzes the thought of “an integral whole of the Eight Banners” and the consciousness of “Manchu ethnic” in Ba Qi Wen Jing.PartⅣ:The Value and Significance of Ba Qi Wen Jing. This part summarizes the literary and philological value of Ba Qi Wen Jing, and highly appreciates the important position and influence of Ba Qi Wen Jing in literary history of the Eight Banners and cultural history of minorities.
