The Analysis And Research Of Xi’an Cable Television Transformation

With the overall progress of the national triple play, the bidirectional transformation of cable network becomes an emergent problem for the whole industry. This paper will present how to apply the OTN and EPON technology to the cable television network transformation in Xi’an achieving the bidirectional transformation of traditional HFC network by advanced technology in order to have the cable network carry two types of business: broadcast and interactive services which will provide core competencies for Xi’an radio and television network in the future development of triple play services.This thesis consists of six parts. The first part demonstrates the history of cable TV, introduces the status quo of cable TV domestic and abroad and the purpose, and explains the purpose and significance of the topic. The second part describes Status quo and problems of Xi’an cable TV. The third part introduces the OTN, EPON and corresponding technology for the assessments of Cable network. The fourth part discusses the integrated information network in detail.puts forward the hierarchical network structure which divides the network into backbone layer, transport layer and access layer. Every layer, respectively, will be designed and planned detailedly. Part five analyzes scheme and introduces the transmission index analysis and overall performance analysis after completion of broadcast television networks in Xi’an. Meanwhile, the new business which may be carried out is also included in this part. Part six makes a summary for the whole paper and outlooks the future work.
