Digital robot design platform is to enhance the robot design capacity and promote the autonomous robot development process. Thereby the situation that the robots in China highly dependends on importing can be changed and the productivity. The core technology of the platform stands in the integration between systems and the mutual flow between datas. CAD is the primary tool in the designing process while CAE in the analyzing process. Both of them are crucial to the integration process. This article will adopt data model mapping method to CAD/ CAE system integration and part is completed.In this paper, the digital industrial robot design platform is selected as the object of study. The software SINOVATION is chosen as the CAD 3D geometric modeling tool. STEP neutral file format is selected as the standard. The XML data model is selected as the intermediate transition mapping model. With the development of the model mapping rules and the corresponding data conversion program, the conversion from CAD system to CAE system data model is completed. The main contents of this article are as:1. Based on the analysis of the digital robotics design platform, try to understand the whole architecture platform. Then based on the overall demands of the framework of the platform, specify the meaning and study direction of the CAD / CAE systems integration.2. To ayalyze the data model of the STEP neutral file(EXPRESS description language), especially the STEP AP203 and AP209 standard application protocols. And select the XML data model as the intermediate model, with certain mapping rules, to complete the conversion of the heterogeneous data.3. According to the AP203 data model file, and then instantiate the data to C++, then to extract the entity data tree of AP203 file from the geometric information; then to integrate the data; With the mapping rulers from STEP neutral file to XML, to convert the AP203 file of EXPRESS language into XML data model, with the appropriate mapping rules, to convert the XML data model into the AP209 file of EXPRESS expression.4. With the basic components of robot designed by SINOVATION, and the STEP intermediate format, to complete the conversion from geometry to the input to NASTRAN solver static format of.bdf.And obtain analytical results...
