The Function Research Of Data Librarian In University Library For The Big Data Environment

Fully tagged and used of net information and digital resources are more popular in 21 century. The big data speeding the knowledge which the library has. Although the big data may helps library to satisfy the need from guests, service provided by library do not be prepared. The roles for the big data environment need a clear positioning in the library and the impact for the big data environment need new staffs.In this paper, the research of the data librarian function aims at expanding the actual service of the library. Through the literature survey theory, which means information collection, organization, construction of institutional repository, research data collection, data organization standards, long-term storage and other activities will provide theory to analysis. Through the 324 college students and 30 university library manager for the investigation, we can analysis that their needs and functions of the librarians of managers to build. Combining with the investigation analysis results, this paper puts forward functions of data librarians of university library. Summarized data librarians in colleges and universities library functions can be divided into three parts, respectively is based on the data life cycle data management, data consulting and management and training services. According to the service object of the three functions of different data librarian service focus is also different.Finally the data librarian function requirements can be summarized, including data librarian role positioning, and the difference between subject librarians, reference librarians and its own characteristics; Data librarian function requirements of the project includes general service and personalized service projects. Data librarian role positioning, function requirements, both should be interdependent, which is working principles of data librarian. By introducing and cultivating professional talents of the library, it can be used as the data librarian of the library service functions, to provide users with a guaranteed service.
