| With the social and economic development, the basic trend of the global telecommunications industry are probably moving towards full-service operation, telecom operators in United States and some other advanced countries are also moving in this direction. Compared with traditional voice services, full-service also includes data and video services, and the basis to realize this service is the full-service access network of optic fiber cable. Currently, operators are trying to develop the full-service access network, and the PON network is as the representative. This thesis focuses on the PON network research, including network composition, network theory, network main technical indicators and related network equipment. Then, for the characteristics of full-service access network, we analyze network planning methods and network development models. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, we study the structure and basic principles of PON network, elaborate the architecture of PON network system, and describe the function of current mainstream optical network unit(ONU). Also, we describe the major technical indicators of PON network, explain the link attenuation index and calculation methods, principles and methods of bandwidth calculation.Secondly, the overall planning of the full-service access network was discussed in this paper. We locate the users and service which the access network bears, determine the target architecture of the access network, describe division in each network level and allocation principles of the cable core. We explain the basic principles of access network planning and describe the overall process of planning, principles and content.At last, because FTTH is the access network’s development goals, we discuss different FTTH network models. We study the FTTH network forming, then study FTTH network modes respectively in different scenarios such as residential buildings, new residential, villas, rural, commercial buildings have been built, etc. Also, as a key part of the PON network, ODN is discussed of its construction cost. We analyze and summarize the cost of transformation and new district respectively in different process.The network planning methods and procedures presented in this paper, can be used in the actual work for different operators in different regions. The different FTTH network models and cost analysis discussed in this paper, can be a reference in the actual project constructions, thus it has a certain value. |
