Software Design Of Array Radar Echo Signal Simulator

With the development of modern warfare, battlefield environment has been more complex than before. The performance of the radar system is increasing, while the design of radar systems become complex, so the radar system debugging brought great difficulties. In order to complete the system debugging, stereotypes and mass production in a short period of time, if the external field inspection flying was acquired for radar system debugging, cost would be very vast and debug cycle would be very long, so it is unable to meet the needs of radar systems debugging. If the radar system simulator was gotten for debugging, both the debug cycle and the cost would be reduced. Therefore, the radar simulator has become an indispensable device for debugging.With the development of modern computer technology, digital circuit design and radar technology and so on, now the signle hardware or software simulation method has been abandoned. So the method of combining hardware and software is widely used and the array radar simulator system deploys this method. The software of the simulator system is a platform for operator and is an imporant part to control the system. The radar signal simulation software can generate a variety of signal. Therefore, the software is a very imporant factor for the working of the system.In this paper, on the background of the research on an array radar signal simulator system, various parts of the functions are explained. Based on the function of the system, the flow of overall data is designed. Based on the design of the data flow, the function of the PC interface application programming is completed. Finally, the method of generating radar echo signals is described in detail. The radar signal simulation software can produce all kinds of radar signals. The detailed function of each part and radar signal simulation software are illustrated, but the software can only produce a single array element radar signal. In order to achieve 40 array elements echo signals, the basic concepts of beamforming and the calculation of the steering vector for each array element are proposed. Thus, the software design of the system is completed and the signal can be generated. The function of each part of the system is achieved.
