Along with the increasing development of computer aided design technology and mature, the great changes is happening in manufacturing industry especially in mechanical manufacturing industry. At the same time, the development of information technology and computer information technology is widely used in mechanical processing and manufacturing, the traditional pattern of product design, manufacturing production is more and more can not adapt to the demand of the market. The wide use of CAD technology, makes the expression method of product information is from the traditional manual drawing and 2d drawing upgrade for 3d modeling. In order to adapt to the trend of the digital information expression, the research on 3d technology design becomes a new research hotspot based on MBD technology.MBD technology based on the model definition is an advanced digital product definition method, it defines the product all kinds of information such as design information and process information, manufacturing information on organic organization model as the carrier, and express it with the 3d model of integration. In the modern manufacturing industry, collaborative design and manufacturing of MBD technology is playing a more and more important role. It is a trend in the development of advanced manufacturing industry based on information model of product design, process, manufacturing of full three-dimensional expression in today’s society. Among them, expression o f process information in a three-dimensional model is a key. But, at present, most of the production mode is essentially "production 3d, modeling 2d" for our country enterprise. The 3d model design information, manufacturing infor mation will be shifted to the 2d drawings, namely writing process card. The traditional production mode has many shortcomings, such as information mapping is not intuitive, hand-painted is tedious, error-prone, troublesome in change, workload, etc. So, it is more and more important that how can you have your product design and manufacturing information directly mark on the 3d product model.According to the above problem, based on process information, this paper first studied the basic elements of process information, sorted the process information. Second, the expression technology of process information on 3d model was studied. At the same time, the construction of process symbol library has been realized in Pro/E environment.These symbols library includes mechanical processing method of symbolic symbols and machining tools. The marking label program of 3d process symbol information, the tolerance of shape and position, surface roughness has been realized with the programming software of visual studio 2008 in Pro/E environment. At the same time of implementation, some key technologies were also solved, such as the expression technology of process symbol information, building of symbol library, selection of comments point, etc..The resolution of these key technologies played a decis ive role in system development.At last, based on the MBD technology, this paper tries to carry out the secondary development of three-dimensional information technology and position tolerances, surface roughness with the development tools visual studio 2008 and 3d modeling software Pro/E. Through the secondary development, process information such as symbol, tool symbol, position tolerances, surface roughness and other information can be directly marked on the 3d model. At the same time, it can also provide a reference and help for the digitalization and integration of product definition information.
