Artificial intelligence is an important part of computer bionics, and is widely used invirtual reality, games and biomimetic robots. Virtual character exists in virtual reality, amonggames and robotics with their own patterns of behavior and interact with users. Users can reallyfeel the realism of virtual character and intelligence, when the virtual character do decisions andactions in a way close to the intelligent life.However, there is few research on the intelligence ofvirtual character. There are problems such as slow decision-making, unreality need to solve.How to use artificial intelligence to achieve virtual character’s behavior decision module isimportant to make them have intelligence and reality, becomes a hot topic.This paper takes virtual soccer athletic as subjects, do some researches on behavioraldecision modules of virtual soccer player, which make virtual players have autonomy andintelligent capabilities. With these module, their behavior become more realistic. Researchresult has a positive meaning to intelligent virtual characters technology. Main works of thispaper are followed:1. This paper studies texture mapping, layers of details, which involve in the constructionof virtual scene. These key technologies are used to build a virtual environment and objectsinvolved in football athletics scene, the performance of the scene are optimized.2. This paper studied the A*algorithm and genetic algorithm and applied these algorithmsin path planning of virtual character based on Unity engine, path planning for virtual charactermodule is implemented using the A*algorithm, which is improved by greedy smoothalgorithm.3. This paper studies the design of decision-making modules, such as shooting, passing.Using appropriate fitness evaluation method, virtual players have effective decision-makingbehavior. This paragraph focus on the application of genetic algorithm and particle swarmoptimization algorithm in team decision-making model.4. This paper design the virtual football athletic based on Unity3D, specifically the virtualobjects in the scene, sports mode and system architecture. In virtual scene, user needs to use itsown virtual football team to compete with other users in eleven football contests. Virtual players have complete autonomy, able to judge the state of the virtual scene in real-time, switchstate with the established behavioral rules, do interaction between virtual characters.This paper applied parallax mapping method on the virtual scene model’s texture mapping,texture of virtual objects is realistic; implemented path planning for virtual character moduleusing improved A*algorithm, which increases intelligence of virtual characters and realistic;studies the design of decision-making modules, genetics algorithm and particle swarmalgorithm can both effectively improve the team’s defensive ability, the player can make morerational moves to block the enemy’s attack; studies the behavior decision module of virtualcharacter based on artificial intelligence, those methods are verified in virtual football sportsplatform. Results show that the artificial intelligence methods enhance autonomy andintelligence of virtual character efficiently, able to bring a better user interactive experience.
