For the concept of visualization, the author takes it to compare with the conceptof infographic in the paper, and comes to a conclusion that visualization is the method ofdealing with data, and the infographic is a visualized representation of the data after processed, and it’s the present form of data journalism which we often see as also. The two parts comedown in one continuous line, including several types of infographic, just like the staticinfographic, infographic about space and time, interaction infographic and so on.After understanding the definition, the author has taken three media including the “datablog†of The Guardian which was from UK, the “data news†of Caixin.com and the “datablog†of Net Ease as an example, and taken284articles from “data blog†of The Guardian,211articles from “data news†of Caixin.com,118articles from “data blog†of Net Ease, which were a total of613data journalism as sample. From four aspects like selecting topicclassifications, data sources, presentation of visualization and interactive experience, theauthor compared the domestic and overseas networks and analyzed them, and then to find the advantage and disadvantage of Chinese web portals’visualized data journalism.Quantitative analyzing with the four aspects’ data from three media, the author foundthat currently “data blog†of Net Ease, as the representative of the Chinese web portal’s datajournalism, faced with a lot of problems in development. Compared with foreign advancedmedia as well as the domestic and similar websites, Chinese web portal’s visualized datajournalism still have many promotion space. So, in the last chapter, the author elaborated theway to develop web portal’s visualized data journalism. Aimed at the a series of problem likeunreasonable topic, lacking data sources, lag in data mining, visualization and interactiontechnologies, the author put some ideas forward to solve these problems.Tim Berners Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web and named as “father of theinternetâ€, declared that:†Data journalism is the future.†I hope that this paper can make sensesin development of web portal’s visualized data journalism and make it be better and better. |
