This paper studied the permanent ferrite magnet rotor critical dimensions and surface defect detection image image preprocessing algorithm and on the basis of the above pitch calibration method was proposed as an increase in the accuracy of the calibration plate edge position, and can be calibrated determine the accuracy of the results improved calibration method, which is based OTSU thresholding secondary calibration methods. First, the image preprocessing algorithm theory to analyze the image filtering and enhancement, and compare the experimental results were presented by two test image image preprocessing procedures. Secondly, in order to improve the accuracy of the calibration values and determine the accuracy of the calibration values realized in principle on the basis of pitch calibration method was proposed a method of increasing the accuracy of the calibration plate edge location using OTSU first threshold, and then through the second calibration to calibrate value judgment accuracy automated calibration method. Finally, the system calibration test data for this paper method was validated.A model based on ? mathematical morphology improved Canny edge detection algorithm was proposed in this paper. First, the conventional Canny edge detection algorithm in the Gaussian filter was replaced with a median filter, and it increases the ability to filter out noise while maintaining the smooth edge of minutiae. Then intermittent edge gradient amplitude non-maximal inhibition after using mathematical morphology structure elements were closing operation, while making intermittent edge connecting thicker vertical edges can not affect the horizontal size detection. Finally, the improved algorithm extracted the edge of permanent ferrite magnet rotor’s the size detection image, and it verified the effectiveness of the algorithm.In this paper, machine vision nondestructive testing technology from the perspective elaborated detection system works, building hardware and software platforms, and specific workflow systems. To build the hardware and software platform, it was light, industrial camera and lens’ s selection for size detection and detection of surface defects. And by analyzing the light theory has respectively built light mathematical modeling and lighting system collection of the surface defect detection image and the size detection image. In this paper, LabVIEW, VS 2012 as a development platform of the detection system, through the analysis of image processing applications in the detection, it designed and developed a permanent ferrite magnet rotor size detection and surface defect detection system. The detection system developed under the conditions of development requirements achieves a dynamic call each detection module, wherein the size of the detection integrated image acquisition,image calibration, image preprocessing, edge extraction module and the extracted measuring key point coordinate module,and surface defect detection integrated image acquisition, defect extraction, feature extraction and recognition defect classification module, which has realized on-line detection of permanent ferrite magnet rotor quality.Finally, each of size detection and detection of surface defects experimentally tested and the test data were analyzed.
