With the continuous development of network technology, the convergences between different kinds of networks are becoming more and more popular. Ad Hoc network have lots of advantages like low costs, easy to set up, and flexibility. By converge Ad Hoc network and 3G network, users can get better surveys. Many researchers focus on the convergence between these two kinds of networks. This kind of integrated network can solve many problems of current networks, and provide a new model of connection between mobile terminals.This thesis describes the classification of Ad Hoc/3G integrated networks, and cites several cases for each type of networks. This thesis also studies how to achieve AODV routing protocol and the network module structure in Linux systems. In chapter three, this thesis introduces the major gateway discovery algorithms and gateway selection algorithms, and improves the original AODV routing protocol to achieve gateway discovery. By comparing several typical gateway selection algorithms, this thesis analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of those types of algorithms.This thesis analyzes three mobile forwarding methods,and use NS3 to simulate the performance of NAT method and Mobile IP method. By comparing those two methods, we decide use NAT to realize integrated network gateway. The integrated network we designed is based on Linux system, and use improved AODV routing protocol to achieve gateway discovery. The gateway use NAT to translate the network addresses between Ad Hoc network and 3G network. Then this thesis introduce the key technologies in this integrated network, and do a research on how to converge the protocol stacks between Ad Hoc network and 3G network. This thesis presents an improved integrate gateway discovery algorithm in order to make the network has a better performance. Compare with the proactive gateway discovery algorithm, this improved integrate gateway discovery algorithm can decrease the number of gateway control packets and network load. In the end, this thesis introduces NS3 simulation software and use NS3 to simulate the integrated network. By comparing the improved integrate gateway discovery algorithm and proactive gateway discovery algorithm, this thesis analyses the performances of the integrated network. This simulation verifies the feasibility and stability of this integrated network. The integrated network that this thesis designed can provide a reference for different types of integrated networks.
