| Traditional Wavelength Division Multiplexing(WDM) optical network adopts fixed wavelength grid as service provisioning unit which cannot satisfy the rapid growing demand for high data rate traffic and the expanding of network scale. Developing high-capacity, dynamic and flexible optical network becomes an inevitable trend. Elastic Optical Network(EON) has many merits such as flexibility, dynamic and high efficiency, which has become one of the main development trend in optical networks. Meanwhile, the network survivability is a key technology in elastic optical network. This thesis presents a comprehensive and in-depth study on survivability technology for elastic optical network supporting traffic grooming.First of all, this thesis gives a brief introduction of the EON principles, and detailed analyzes and compares several main survivability technologies in EON. Secondly, it discusses elastic optical network supporting grooming, researches traffic grooming in elastic optical networks, and elaborated the optical grooming routing and spectrum allocation algorithm in detail. Focusing on EON supporting traffic grooming, this thesis proposes an improved shared protection strategy. The improved protection strategy introduces differentiated shared protection path with different granularity levels,e.g. optical tunnel and sub-wavelength, which ensuring the optical tunnel level service with tunnel level protection. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed improved protection algorithm has better blocking probability and resources utilization performance compared with traditional shared protection algorithm. |
