Antenna is a crucial component used to transmit or receive electromagnetic wave in wireless communicating system. The performance of satellite communication earth station is very sensitive to the performance of antenna used in satellite communication. The performance parameters of satellite communication antenna includes circuit parameters like VSWR and input impedance in working frequency band, and radiation parameters like radiation pattern, and gain in service frequency band. Consequently before the satellite communication earth station is put into service, verification test must be carried out, and the test report must be submitted to the satellite organization. This paper describes the satellite communication antenna test system which can complete verification test and automatic generate test report in detail. The test system uses a standard module test platform based on LAN(LXI). This system improves the efficiency and reliability of the existing test system and realizes the automation and remote testing.This paper systematically introduces the detailed design and implementation methods of antenna test system on the satellite communication earth station. The requirement parameters in verification test report of antenna for satellite communication earth station are analyzed specifically in the first place. According to the existing conditions, the test system which meets standard modular test platform based on LAN(LXI) is designed in the previous basis. Secondly, the design and control mode of the antenna turntable is introduced in detail. The signal generator and spectrum analyzer is simultaneously introduced to form several schemes of modular test platform based on LAN(LXI). Then, the test software design, mainly including the object class design, the database design, storage and analysis of test data, the test results based on graphics device interface(GDI),and process of test report automatic generation are introduced. Finally, we summarized the paper and predicted the sweep frequency test method based on vector network analyzer.
