With the joint development of the distributed computing, the grid computing and the parallel network computing technology, a new computer network architecture which was called Cloud Computing was born. But also it can make our lives more convenient through its cloud desktop, cloud storage, cloud applications and cloud processing. Of course, the cloud desktop which is the interface provides the all cloud applications on its desktop. the perception of cloud desktop in the minds of users is a important criterion. However, the picture download occupied more and more significant proportion of the cloud network download. Traditional network transmission of images uses TCP, which provides a generic reliable, in-order byte-stream transmission abstraction. It generates excessive restrict for image download in cloud computing network Because of the characteristic ordered byte stream. Thereby in a busy network environment the user experience is deteriorated for the image download. Through analyzing the progression of image quality at the receiver with time,it shows that the in-order delivery abstraction provided by a TCP-based approach prevents the receiver application from processing and rendering portions of an image when they actually arrive. The end result is that an image is rendered in bursts interspersed with long idle times rather than smoothly.This paper describes the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Lightweight Picture Transfer Protocol for the image transmission which is over loss-prone congested networks. With the passage of time in cloud desktop client and by measuring the evolution of peak signal-to-noise ratio, LPTP improves user-perceived latency, it using the application level framing and out-of-order Application Data Unit delivery to Achieve the desired effect. LPTP runs over UDP and achieves receiver-driven of cloud desktop selective reliability. the LPTP using sophisticated congestion management mechanisms(CM) to adapt the network congestion and it can be customized to a particular form of compression coding of images such as JEPG. Using a loss-prone network environment to do the experiment, the result of experiment prove the benefits of LPTP to promote the interact of cloud desktop image download. Although it is exploring cloud desktop picture transmission, there is a selective reliable transport protocol. the LPTP is a generic selectively reliable transport protocol which is own the congestion control and can be customized for specific applications and encoding services.
