Civil aviation airport flight information display system is an indispensable part in airport services. It is an important means to guarantee the orderliness of airport and provide public services and at the same time, presents a window through which communication between passengers can be realized. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), all the places where passengers could possibly stay at airports must be equipped with flight information service system, which is supposed to provide dynamic information about flights in and out, so that passengers can be guided to checking in, airport security, waiting halls (or to alternative halls for those delayed fights), and boarding, and airport staff can more efficiently negotiate and work with each other.Recent years have seen an increasing number of passengers and cargos in domestic large airports such as Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. According to "The national production of statistical bulletin at the airport" issued in 2013, passengers at over 24 airports have exceeded tens of millions throughout the year. During the rapid progress of civil aviation, the importance of information-based airports has been more and more recognized; it has become the most fundamental part that guarantee the proper functioning of airports. What’s more, given the importance of flight information for passengers, flight information display system can directly reflect the level of informationization and intelligentization of an airport. At the backdrop of development of "smart airport (intelligent airport)", large airports at present time often requires flight information display systems that show a high degree of intelligentization, which not only display flight information as traditional systems but also realize the automatic control of the display devices according to their characteristics and physical performances. Apart from that, those display systems also need to realize instant communication with passengers through technologies such as REID, through which passengers can acquire flight information, information of the weather and travel services of their destinations. The flight information display system reported in this article is designed for such purposes. This system is especially for medium-and small-sized airports. It employs the three-tiered B/S structure widely utilized worldly with dynamic page display technology, directly sending passengers and staff information that is various, flexible, timely, and accurate. At the same time, it can also closely monitor display devices to ensure their proper functioning. This system also utilizes database Orachlellg with development technologies of c#.net, asp.net. It is composed of Database Server, Application Server, System Maintenance Management Workstation, and Display Terminals. This system is responsible for flight information management, command and dispatch, integrative query, flight information display and system management, and etc. At the same time, based on the Layered architecture, it can also facilitate the coordination between subsystems and the autoimmunization of system management. In this way, the management and control of aviation information display at the airport can be enhanced. What’s more, the system also incorporates an aviation display service engine which is based on thread pool technique and can respond the concurrent HTTP requests from clients through buffering to help airport deal with problems of high concurrency, instantaneity, and reliability. To solve the display discrepancies between different display devices, the clients presents information into HTML pages so that when the aviation display sever sends messages, all the terminal devices can present information accurately without being equipped with aviation display programs. Consequently, the difficulty in maintenance of and poor compatibility of terminal devices may not be obstacles at airport functioning. To test the feasibility and efficiency, the system has been employed in different airports in China, and the results show that it has distinctive advantages over the traditional flight information display systems. Moreover, this paper also discusses optimization schemes according to the white-box testing and black-box testing. Although potential problems could exist, this system still sets a successful example for "intelligent airports", provides a feasible model for the construction of information-based airports, and advances the development of civil aviation industry of our country.
