Shaft parts is the mo main part of mechanical products, in the process of machining, parts of the size, shape, direction and position and other geometric quantity is difficult to reach the ideal state. Not only appear size errors but also appear shape errors. For shaft parts, the serious influence the using performance of shape error of cylindricity error, alignment error, straightness error. If the shaft parts form error is too big, will lead to the shaft cannot fit well with other parts, inaccurate positioning, local of axis wear faster, thereby reducing the operating precision of shaft parts and the working life of equipment.At present, in the industrial application of shaft parts shape errors, usually use artificial detection, its detection precision is low, operation is complicated and take very long time. Image measurement instrument and cylindricity instrument have high precision but the price is expensive, operating environment is strict, unable to meet the requirements of mass production on-line rapid detection.Image measurement technology based on machine vision has advantages of non-contact, online, rapid, accurate,therefore more suitable for the use of factory production lines.In this paper, studied the image measurement technology based on machine vision i, and set the image measurement system. First captured images of the shaft by the camera, then transport the picture to computer, writing a program to extract the image edge and calibrate the camera, through the corresponding mathematical model to obtain the shaft’s diameter, cylindricity, alignment and perpendicularity error, at last analyzed the measurement errors.
