Rehabilitation instruments are effective tools for patients to recover from dyskinesia. There are many rehabilitation robots on the market. However, there is still no functional rehabilitation robot which could provide combined movement of upper limb and lower limb for patients. Rehabilitation with combined movement of upper limb and lower limb is a new method. According to the study of many scientists there are connections between the movement of upper limb and lower limb, which infers that rehabilitation with combined movement of upper limb and lower limb will be a possible effective way for recovery process of disabled limbs. In order to test the effectiveness of this method, we designed a rehabilitation robot which could provide combined movement of upper limb and lower limb for patients. This robot lets patients practice when they lie down and stand up.Firstly analyses the pathogenesis of dyskinesia and classifies it. According to different pathogenesis there are different rehabilitation theories. The neurophysiological therapy and the motor relearning program are the most basic theories of rehabilitation. The first chapter explains these two theories and combines these two theories to find a new rehabilitation method.Then using motion date capture system to collect the date of normal walking and treadmill walking of person and analysing the date to see the difference between these two kinds of movement. It turns out that it is reasonable to use treadmill walking exercise to replace normal walking exercise.Lastly and the most important part is designing the mechanical structure of the rehabilitation robot. According to the physical structure of person and the goal of producing combined movement of upper limb and lower limb the research simplifies kinematic model of upper limb and lower limb. Using UG software to build 3D model we have a complete design of this rehabilitation robot.
