Thanks to the inter-connection between wired network and wireless network such as mobile cellular network, satellite network, mobile ad-hoc network and wireless sensor network, the internet has evolving into a much huge, complicate and opened system. The highly heterogeneous network not only make it very convenient for the communication for human being, but also lead to the TCP/IP show poor performance because of it’s self-complex structure. For instance, the heterogeneous own the characters of high bit error rate, asymmetric channel, different bandwidth, mobility, long delay and difference among lower layer protocol. TCP plays an momentous role in keeping the reliability for data transmission, therefor solving this problem has becoming an research topic in this area.Towards the point that transmission efficiency and fairness of traditional TCP congestion control, the main studies and contributions of this paper are presented as follows. Firstly his paper consider the merits of chaos control theory and some chaotic nature that TCP shown in heterogeneous, and verify that TCP show chaotic nature in heterogeneous network from the aspect of system periodicity, sensibility to initial system parameter, and strange attractor and so on. Secondly, Considering the advantage of nature inspired algorithm and the sensibility for system initial parameter in a chaotic system, this paper proposed an improved TCP congestion control structure which show well self-adaption and can discriminate the reason for dropping packets by mapping the logical relationship between Prey-predator model and TCP congestion control which we call it IPPM by analyzing and pointing out the drawbacks and shortcomings before dropping packets and after dropping packets. Lastly, for the congestion control based on IPPM in the proposed structure mentioned above, we promote the idea that using the IPPM model to initiate the TCP related parameters in heterogeneous so that TCP could running at set of appropriate state, which could lead to the system fast converge to a balance state.Numerical results shows that TCP congestion control shows chaos nature in Heterogeneous Network in certain situations and the the improvement for TCP based on IPPM algorithm we proposed is better than traditional TCP in throughput, and fairness between different flows, especially in high-speed and long delay network, this points become much more obvious.
