In twenty-first Century, along with the rapid development of the domestic enterprise informationization, the Intenet Data Center and the Cloud Computing Data Center develop rapidly. A variety of hardware such as server, storage, network equipment and software such as application system, database is growing rapidly in data centers. In this case, CIOs need to face the challenge in the limited cost of human resources to guarantee the service quality and efficiency.This paper presents a practical solution: workflow automation system for cloud data center. The system mainly solves the following two problems: firstly the IT engineer in cloud data center can turn daily manual operations such as bussiness system maintenance, data backup and disaster recovery etc into automatic operations; secondly the system can define the data analysis process in the form of flow chart. In the runtime sytem can call the MySQL cluster and hadoop distributed computing platform. It automates the analysis process of big data and promotes its deep use.Firstly, problems and challenges for cloud data center are discussed. Secondly, the related technologies of automation, workflow and big data are highlighted and describe how these technologies to solve the above challenges. Thirdly, business needs, architecture design, detailed design and core code are described, and give the system implementation. Lastly, a practical case of the system is demonstrated in a cloud data center.The practical case shows that the workflow automation system for cloud data center can reduce effectively the human cost and improve the service efficiency and quality. So we think the system has wide applications in many scopes.
