Design And Research On General-purpose Automatic Testing System For Electronic Products

After stepping into 21 st century, the rapid development electronics, mobile communication and internet, which spawned a wide range of different functions of electronic products, such as smart phones, tablet computers, wearable devices, and so on. However, the electronic productions update very quickly. But most of small and medium electronic enterprises still use traditional manual testing with low efficiency, high error rate, which hinders the improvement of product quality. There are also some companies use customized testing systems. But these testing systems are unsatisfactory in flexibility, versatility and other aspects. So designing general-purpose automatic testing system for small and medium enterprises in electronic technology, takes an indispensable role in improving testing quality and shortening time to market and even in expanding the size of the company and so on.This paper has analyzed the development trend of automatic testing system and has adopted some advantages of the existing testing systems, as well as has taken the system’s generality, scalability, ease-operation, configurability and other factors into consideration, after that, decides to use Lab VIEW and Test Stand software(developed by National Instrument) as a PC software development tool and combines it with embedded device to design the general-purpose automatic testing system. The system is based on modular thinking method. With NI data acquisition card, it can easily realize electrical signal acquisition(current, voltage, resistance, frequency etc.). The measurement and control module acts as TCP client while PC acts TCP concurrent server, which realize transmission performance parallel test of most commonly used communication ports(UART, SPI, I2 C, USB).And a simple HTTP server is set up on the measurement and control module so we can easily make a visual configuration of the global parameters of the measurement and control module via browser on PC. In addition, this system also has permission management, test process control, data analysis, fault alarm, report generation and other functions.For different products, the traditional strategy of common automatic testing system is "software redesign". Compared to it, the strategy of this automatic testing system is "test units combine into test program group, then the code module corresponding to test program groups and test conditions form the test sequence, and different products use different test sequence set", which Greatly enhances the versatility and scalability of the system. At the same time the test project, process, parameters can be simple and flexible configuration, rapid deployment, which can meet the need of the upgrading of products.
