In November 2008, the International Department of People’s Daily launched international comments under the pseudonym of Zhongsheng, referring to bell ring in Chinese, which is another signed international comment after Guojiping, referring to international commentators in Chinese. Zhongsheng, short for the Voice of China,contains the moral of warning bells, mainly explains China’s proposition of major international issues and China-related issues.Other than Guojiping’s depth profiling of major issues, Zhongsheng does well in high profile and quick response. Zhongsheng announces in first place in a series of major international issues, elaborating official standpoint, expressing national emotion, and cultivating rational and mature power mentality, which greatly enhance the guidance of public opinions at home and the influences of public abroad.With the main study object of Zhongsheng, the thesis analyzes its speech features and reveals the metaphors and values mainly by the research method of Frame Analysis.Research findings are briefly as follows: The release timing of Zhongsheng is mainly when the other governments have made statements or taken actions; in issues distribution,the proportion of current political issues shows a rising trend in general, while the highest attention coefficient lies in USA; in aspects of comment intentions, economic issues are mainly responded with rhetoric while military and security issues with making suggestions, advises and so on; in terms of attitudes, bilateral relationship issues are commend-half while controversies are more than consensus in issues related to relations with USA and Japan; As to writing characteristics, the proportion of refutation declines.At last, the thesis makes a general overview of the challenge, deficiency and opportunities, and affirms it to be a magnifying glass and important weapon of diplomatic maneuvers.
