Since the Internet was born, remote working and learning have become dream of everyone. White board is a very important tools to support remote working and learning. However, in this area, it never comes up a generic tool. Although there are many teaching tools in the market, white boards are often integrated inside these products from many companies big or small. However, since integrated within separate products, these enbedded white boards have different operating manner and usage limitation. In order to solve these problems, this paper designed an interactive electronic white board based on Flex technology.This paper use the advanced Adobe Flex technology to implement an interactive online white board system. It can run within internet explorer without the need of installation. Meanwhile it has a rich set of client side application features and real time interaction capability. This system can connect multiple users as long as they use the same address of white board, thus it is independent of any other third party education software and can adapt various third party software and usage scenarios. This paper follows the complete life cycle of Software Engineering, analyzes the real life requirement, considers the current technical trends and divide the system into display, storage, transport and many other independent modules with Spring MVC. Then, it architects the system under the B/S mode, using the lighweight REST Web Service based on HTTP protocol to transport data efficiently, and designs and implements the modules in details. In the end, this paper runs the standard software testing to fix the error in the program logic, to ensure the system has a good quality.According to the development of this white board system, this paper achieved the initial design goal and resolved the problem in real life, and gained much valuable experience and conclusion.
