| Classroom Response System is a system used by teachers to do such noncreative jobs as showing the contents of curriculum, proposing the questions, collecting the students’answers as well as analysizing the changes of students’accomplishment. It consists of client devices as a tool of collecting students’ answers, communicating net as media for the interaction between teachers and students and server software for processing students’ scores. The main aim of the research of the system is to reduce the redundant segments of classroom teaching and cut off the unnecessary burdens of teachers and raise the enthusiasm of students, thus promoting the efficiency of classroom teaching and the quality of education. The research of classroom response system has been carried out for many years at home and abroad, and many kinds of achievements have been applied. By drawing experiences and lessons from the systems above, the paper demonstrates a classroom response system called SPCRS, which consists of System controller, Teacher’s system and Students’ Client. System controller is designed for students’ subject-choosing, distributing room and time for chosen subjects and controlling the opening and closing of Teachers’ System. System controller solves the problem of choosing subjects for students and choosing room and time for special subjects by using object-oriented programming instead of artificial work. Teachers’ System is designed for managing the resources of subjects and showing questions and collecting students’ answers while testing is on. All the work is done with Java Web technology and much of the teachers’ energy is saved. Students’ Client is based on smart phone programming using Android, and is responsible for collecting the answers of questions raised by teachers. In this way, more students are given chances to answer questions than ever. The background database is conducted with XML, so the whole system can be run on different platforms. To make the long research and analysis of students’ scores available, the paper demonstrates a series of algorithms. All the work above is the base for further research. |
