Leak detection (air tightness detection) is primarily used to test the leakage about the measured object, for the containers which have high demand in air tightness, air tightness is an important indicator for measuring it. In the automobile, gas, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry and other related industries, the demand for high precision leak detection is very big, so the technique of leak detection becomes the key to improve the testing efficiency and product quality.This article describes the method to detecting differential-pressure-volume compensation simulation leak detection rely on improved genetic algorithm PID optimization on basis of introducing the direct pressure type leak detection principle. The main contents and results of this study are showed as follows:1. This paper introduces the present situation and development of gas tightness leak detection technology; also introduce the genetic algorithm and the present situation and development of PID parameter tuning.2. This paper describes the basic principle on the air tightness detection, direct pressure type leak detection and different pressure leak detection, volume-compensation and simulation leak detection.3. This paper sets out the basic principles and procedures of the genetic algorithm, and several methods about the PID control and parameter tuning, using the Matlab Simulink for simulation, building volumetric compensation system of mathematical model, and then simulating it.4. Built a simulation system of leak detection, using the VC++2008 and Keil to develop corresponding data collection and control system between upper computer and slave computer for simulating the leak detection.5. Through the comparison of simulated leakage and leak detection, prove the detection accuracy and detection efficiency of leak detection device reached design requirements,also contrast the detection accuracy and detection efficiency about different leak detection methods through experiment, we can find out improved genetic algorithm PID optimization for controlling volume-compensation simulation has better result in leak detection.
