With the rapid growth of network scale and increasing complexity of the network structure, the existing network has exposed more and more problems. For example, QoS is difficult to solve, scalability is not good, security is poor and so on. At the same time, more and more high requirements for the existing network from people to promote the development of all kinds of new technology of network, Vector network technology in this context arises at the historic moment. Compared with the networks which already exists, it has plenty of advantages such as infinite scalability, strong safety, QoS and so on. In addition, thanks to the separation of data plane and the control plane in the vector network, switching nodes only need to complete a simple function, thereby simplifying the equipment costs, reducing the network maintenance costs.In the vector network, the simple exchange equipment can not help the topology collection, so how to get the network topology and update the topology change in time is a question that needs to be studied. Currently detection can collect the network topology using node answering on leader probing method (NALP) or hypothesis and detect step by step method. Up to date, there is no effective method to solve topology updating problem, how to resolve the problem of automatic detection and localization of the equipment fault in vector network is the main research contents of this dissertation. Specifically, the main work of this dissertation is as follows:we design and implement the interface of the topology acquisition module and improve the NALP protocol to realize the identification of the newly added network devices and links. For the link disconnection between network equipment this dissertation proposes a topology updating strategy based on vector network and designs topology maintenance signaling format. Through calculating and traversing network spanning tree terminal system can check network equipments, this strategy ensures that the equipment failure is found in time and accurately, so as to realize the real-time updating of the topology, and improve the reliability and stability of the network. Finally, this dissertation designs and implements a compact VN switching network topology acquisition and updating system with C++ language, which is based on the current two vector network topology discovery algorithm.The proposed algorithm is based on vector network’s data forwarding characteristics, and it doesn’t need any special additional protocol,which is applicable to any vector network architecture. This dissertation experiments with the simulation topology of different network structures, which shows the accuracy and validity of the topology updating method for link disconnection.
