With the development of digital design technology, computer aided conceptual design will gradually replace the traditional pen and paper interactive conceptual design model. The traditional pen and paper interactive design will only show the designer’s idea in the two-dimensional plane, can directly transfer digital information between the design scheme evaluation and detailed design process, and affect the overall efficiency of the design. The interactive design of intelligent recognition using computer and intelligent input device platform, can real-time capture design intent, make quick evaluation of design scheme, and realize digital design plays an important role in promoting the upgrading of product development capabilities. In this paper, the sketch of mechanism scheme and the sketch recognition and expression method of mechanism are studied, which provides support for the automatic establishment of mechanism motion relation and scheme evaluation.Firstly the paper finished the sketch recognition on the basis of the work, such as pretreatment of stroke, line, circle, rectangle, arbitrary polygon recognition and so on. Then we regard 2D sketch as the basic primitives graphics, extract the information of the graph structure, using template matching method to match the graph structure, finally calculated the shape similarity, compared with the differences in shape between the same structure to identify the graph, which is similar to each other. In addition, the paper regard the mechanism graphic as combination of graphic, which is composed of standards mechanism symbol such as the connecting rod, a rotating pair, slider assembly graphics and so on. Local structure recognition method based on attribute adjacency graph is used to extract the local structure of the sketch, so as to capture the design intention, and the expression of the mechanism is realized by using the symbolic description language.Study the establishment of the test system, can complete the sketch primitives and the combination of graphics recognition. for complex mechanism system can extract the common local graph structure, basically realize the mechanism sketch semantic extraction. This paper is a beneficial exploration for computer aided conceptual design of mechanical products, has a certain reference value.
